Greetings from Free Software Foundation Tamil Nadu (FSFTN)
We are happy to announce that our annual camp is back! FSFTN’s AppDev Boot Camp will be held at Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET), Nungambakkam from December 13-17.
This is the fifth year in row FSFTN is organizing annual camps. The camps from 2013-15 were held at IIT-Madras and in 2016, the camp was held at LICET. The camp also seeks to take forward the ideas and technology discussed at the national conference of the Free Software Movement of India, which was held at B.S. Abdur Rahman University in January 2017 and was attended by over 2,000 people, along with leading speakers from India and abroad.
This year’s AppDev Boot Camp is special because along with three days of learning cutting-edge technology, we are also organizing a 2-day hackathon, where participants will get to implement what they learned.
The camp will also be followed by a one-month long weekend internship programme where selected participants will work on socially-relevant projects with real-world applications that will expose them to the Free Software eco-system and the commons, as well as introduce them to the methods and processes used in the industry. Participants will also get a T-shirt, pen drive, and other goodies.
We request you to kindly inform your friends, colleges, and community of the event, which will be greatly beneficial for them and also help establish a strong bond between them and FSFTN.
