Free and open source multiplatform voice (VoIP), videoconferencing and instant messaging

Having used Google hangout / Skype in place of Jitsi , I personally feel that we have let down Jitsi . Any subsequent VoIP calls , I guess we have to try out with Jitsi . Even if it fails , we can report them as bugs . Any other alternatives ?

Matrix seems to have VoIP calls - someone reported that the quality is awesome. I wonder how good conferencing via matrix is.

I’m having some difficulty with self hosting Matrix. Some issue with linking up LDAP for authentication. Will have to figure that out. And, the Vector client with its dependence on npm is no fun at all for my distro’s package manager.
